This Platform Privacy Notice explains how Intavant handles personal information through Scoblade’s hosted platform, content-delivery services, player interfaces, connectors, documentation, and support. The separate Website Privacy Notice applies to the public scoblade.com website.
Our role and the customer’s role
Organizations use Scoblade to manage, deliver, license, and report on learning content. For customer-controlled content, learner records, and learning activity, the customer generally determines why and how the information is processed. Intavant processes that information on the customer’s behalf and according to its instructions, the applicable agreement, and law.
Intavant determines how it uses customer administrator, billing, support, security, and service-operation information for its own legitimate business purposes. In that context, Intavant is responsible for the processing described in this notice.
Learners should direct requests concerning customer-provided learning records to the organization that assigned or delivered the content. We will assist the organization as required by our agreement and applicable law.
Information processed through the platform
The information processed depends on the features and customer configuration and may include:
- Customer and account information: names, work email addresses, organization and role details, authentication records, invitations, permissions, account preferences, and support communications.
- Commercial information: subscription, order, entitlement, usage, and billing-related records. Payment-card information, when applicable, is handled by the payment provider identified at collection and is not intended to be stored by Scoblade.
- Learner identifiers: identifiers assigned by a customer or learning management system and, depending on configuration, learner names or email addresses.
- Learning activity: registrations, launches, completion and success status, scores, progress, time, objectives, interactions, learner responses, bookmarks, suspend data, and other information communicated through supported learning-content standards.
- Customer Content: course packages, media, metadata, branding, configuration, endpoint details, and related files submitted by a customer.
- Portal and delivery activity: authorized email addresses, access grants, content downloads, delivery events, and related audit information.
- Technical and device information: IP address, user agent, browser and version, operating system, device class, screen and viewport information, language, timezone, connection characteristics, referring system, learning-management-system origin, and integration details.
- Diagnostics and security information: errors, stack traces, event timestamps, breadcrumbs, application state relevant to an error, replay or diagnostic buffers, request details, and security or audit events. Diagnostic records may contain limited content or identifiers present when an error occurred.
Sources of information
We receive information from customer administrators, authorized users, learners’ browsers, customer learning management systems, uploaded course packages, platform integrations, and service providers that support authentication, delivery, security, communications, and infrastructure.
How information is used
Intavant processes platform information to:
- create and administer customer accounts and permissions;
- host, validate, manage, and deliver learning content;
- authenticate launches and enforce customer licensing and access rules;
- record, synchronize, and report learning activity;
- provide portals, exports, analytics, support, and customer-requested functionality;
- monitor performance, troubleshoot errors, maintain compatibility, and improve reliability;
- protect the platform, customers, learners, and content from misuse and security threats;
- manage subscriptions, communications, and business records; and
- comply with applicable law and enforce agreements.
Intavant does not sell learner data, use it for targeted advertising, or use customer-controlled learner records to market directly to learners.
Pseudonymization and customer privacy controls
Customers may configure certain learner identifiers and names to be replaced with stable pseudonymous values in supported workflows. Pseudonymization reduces direct identifiability but does not necessarily make information anonymous, particularly when a customer retains information that can connect the pseudonym to a learner. Customers remain responsible for selecting settings appropriate to their use and legal obligations.
How information is disclosed
We may disclose platform information:
- to the customer and users the customer authorizes;
- to a learning management system, endpoint, portal recipient, or integration selected or configured by the customer;
- to infrastructure, hosting, storage, content-delivery, security, email, authentication, monitoring, support, and payment providers that process information to support Scoblade;
- to professional advisers under appropriate confidentiality obligations;
- when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request;
- when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, service integrity, or security; or
- as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the Scoblade business, subject to appropriate protections and notice where required.
Service providers are permitted to process personal information only for the services they provide to us and subject to applicable contractual restrictions. Additional provider information is made available to customers as appropriate to the service and agreement.
Retention and deletion
Retention depends on the type of record, customer configuration, contractual instructions, operational need, and legal requirements. Account and customer records are generally kept while the account or relationship remains active and for a reasonable period afterward. Learning registrations and related records are retained as needed to provide the customer’s requested history and reporting unless the customer instructs us to delete them or an agreement establishes a different period.
Diagnostic, event, and audit records generally follow shorter operational retention schedules, although records may be preserved longer when needed to investigate an incident, resolve a dispute, prevent abuse, or comply with law. Deleted information may remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups are overwritten in the ordinary course. We may retain deidentified or aggregated information that no longer reasonably identifies an individual.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect platform information. Measures include access controls, separation of customer access, secure transport, infrastructure and application monitoring, backup practices, and review of security-relevant events. No service can guarantee absolute security. Customers are responsible for managing their users, integrations, endpoints, credentials, and lawful handling of information they obtain from the platform.
Education records and minors
Scoblade is provided to organizations, not directly to children for creation of customer accounts. A school, publisher, employer, or other customer may use Scoblade to deliver content to learners, including minors. The customer is responsible for providing required notices and obtaining any required school, parent, or guardian authorization. Intavant processes customer-controlled education records only to provide the Service, follow customer instructions, maintain security, or comply with law.
Use involving children under 13 requires prior written agreement with Intavant so that appropriate roles, notices, consent or school authorization, retention, and deletion requirements can be addressed.
Privacy rights and requests
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing of, or obtain a copy of personal information. Rights may be subject to exceptions and verification requirements.
If your information was provided through a customer, contact that customer first. The customer controls the relevant account and can identify the records and instructions that apply. You may also contact us and identify the customer associated with your request. Requests about information Intavant controls directly, such as your administrator account or support correspondence, may be submitted directly to us.
International processing
Intavant operates in the United States, and information may be processed in the United States and other locations where service providers operate. Where required, Intavant and its customers will use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for international transfers.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as the platform, vendors, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised notice with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required. Material changes affecting an active customer relationship may also be communicated through the platform, email, or the applicable customer contact.
